暮らしの中で、自由に使える「スイカかご」

その名の通り、スイカを入れるためにつくられた須浪亨商店の「スイカかご」。

平らな状態から、スイカを入れるとその形に沿うようにまんまるに膨らむ、い草のかごです。

もちろん、使い道はスイカだけではありません。中に巾着や布袋を入れれば、軽やかな日常使いのバッグとしても。玉ねぎやさつまいもなど、常温で保存したい野菜を入れてキッチンに吊るしておくのもおすすめです。風通しがよく、使っていないときにはかさばりにくいのも嬉しいところ。

素材には、しっかりと撚ったい草を使用。とても軽やかでありながら丈夫で、日々気兼ねなく使うことができます。
使い始めの青々としたい草は、時間とともに少しずつ黄金色へ。使い込むほどに色艶が増し、暮らしの中で育っていくような変化も楽しめます。

バッグに、野菜入れに、ときには本来のスイカかごとして。決まった使い方にとらわれず、暮らしに合わせて自由に使いたくなる道具です。

A Versatile “Watermelon Basket”

Originally designed to carry a watermelon, Sunami Toru Shoten’s “Watermelon Basket” expands into a charming round shape when filled.

It can also be used as an everyday bag by placing a drawstring pouch or cloth bag inside. At home, it works beautifully for storing vegetables such as onions and sweet potatoes, and can be hung in the kitchen for airy storage.

Made from tightly twisted igusa rush, it is both lightweight and durable. The fresh green igusa gradually changes to a warm golden color with use, allowing you to enjoy its natural aging over time.

A simple, versatile basket that can be used in many ways to suit your everyday life.
