丹念に積み重ねた緻密な手仕事から生まれた、力強くも温かい器

一つの木塊を丁寧に掘り進めて形を作る「刳物（くりもの）」。あらかじめ組まれた板を使うのではなく、ひとつの木塊から命を削り出すようにして生まれます。

松崎さんの作品は、約20回もの漆を塗り重ねる贅沢な仕上げを施してあります。朱漆の下には黒、黒漆の下には朱を交互に塗り込んでいるため、色の深みを生み出し、歳月を経て表面の漆が磨耗していくと、下層に眠っていた色が少しずつ顔を出し、世界にたった一つしかない表情へと育っていきます。

この長方箱は、松崎さんが古の陶磁器が持つ端正な姿に惹かれ、その造形を木と漆で写し取ったものです。
菓子器として供するのはもちろん、大切な文房具や装身具を休ませる静かな居場所としても。蓋を裏返せば、深さのある器としてまた別の表情を見せてくれます。何をどう収めようかと、想像を巡らせる時間さえも愉しみになる一品です。

〈Powerful yet Warm: Vessels Born from Devoted Craftsmanship〉

These pieces are created using the kurimono technique, painstakingly carved from a single block of wood. Rather than assembling boards, each form is born as if carving life itself from the raw timber.

Matsuzaki’s work features a luxurious finish of approximately 20 hand-applied lacquer layers. By alternating cinnabar and black, he creates an extraordinary depth. Over years of use, the surface naturally wears to reveal hidden colors beneath, evolving into a one-of-a-kind expression unique to the owner.

This rectangular box pays tribute to the refined elegance of ancient ceramics. It serves beautifully as a vessel for sweets or a serene sanctuary for cherished stationery and jewelry. The lid can also be inverted to function as a deep container. Even the time spent imagining what to place within becomes a quiet pleasure, making this piece a soulful companion to your daily life.
