花岡央さんを代表する「ren」シリーズから生まれたランプシェード。

連子格子を思わせる色ガラスと透明ガラスの縦のラインをツイストさせ、ふっくらと丸みのあるフォルムに仕上げられています。

この作品に込められているのは、照明をつけているときだけでなく、消している時間にも楽しんでもらいたいという思い。

明るい時間には、自然光を受けたガラスそのものの色彩や透明感、ツイストによって生まれる表情をオブジェのように楽しむことができます。

そして灯りをともすと、印象は一変。ツイストしたガラスを通った光が複雑な陰影となり、壁や天井へと映り込みます。シェードそのものの美しさだけでなく、その周囲にまで幻想的な光の景色が広がります。

昼と夜、灯りを消しているときと、ともしているとき。
それぞれに異なる表情を楽しめるランプシェードです。

ENJOY IT, EVEN WHEN THE LIGHT IS OFF

A lampshade from Hiroi Hanaoka’s signature “ren” series.

The vertical lines of colored and clear glass, inspired by traditional *renji-goshi* latticework, are gently twisted to create a soft, rounded form.

Behind this piece is Hanaoka’s wish for it to be enjoyed not only when the light is on, but also during the hours when it is off.

In daylight, the colors and transparency of the glass, along with the movement created by its twisted form, allow the shade to be appreciated almost like a glass object in its own right.

When illuminated, it takes on an entirely different character. Light passes through the twisted glass, casting intricate shadows and reflections across the walls and ceiling and creating an almost dreamlike atmosphere throughout the room.

Day and night, with the light on or off, this lampshade offers a different expression to enjoy.
