丹念に積み重ねた緻密な手仕事から生まれた、力強くも温かい作品

一つの木塊を丁寧に掘り進めて形を作る「刳物（くりもの）」。あらかじめ組まれた板を使うのではなく、ひとつの木塊から命を削り出すようにして生まれます。

松崎さんの作品は、約20回もの漆を塗り重ねる贅沢な仕上げを施してあります。朱漆の下には黒、黒漆の下には朱を交互に塗り込んでいるため、色の深みを生み出し、歳月を経て表面の漆が磨耗していくと、下層に眠っていた色が少しずつ顔を出し、世界にたった一つしかない表情へと育っていきます。

〈Powerful yet Warm: Vessels Born from Devoted Craftsmanship〉
These pieces are crafted using the kurimono technique, painstakingly hollowed from a single block of wood. Rather than assembling separate boards, each form is "carved into life" from raw timber, resulting in a vessel of singular strength.

Matsuzaki’s work features a luxurious finish of approximately 20 hand-applied lacquer layers. By alternating cinnabar and black, he creates an extraordinary depth. Over years of use, the surface naturally wears to reveal hidden colors beneath, evolving into a one-of-a-kind expression unique to the owner.

柔らかに歪（いびつ）な五角形の盆。この有機的な造形こそ、一つの木塊から削り出す「刳物」ならではの醍醐味です。

This pentagonal tray, with its softly irregular contours, embodies the true essence of kurimono—the art of carving a form from a single block of wood. Its organic silhouette reflects a natural elegance that only hand-sculpting can achieve.

An overwhelming amount of time and labor is invested in the meticulous process of layering cinnabar lacquer (shu-urushi) alongside the wiped lacquer (fuki-urushi) finish. This peerless masterpiece is a testament to the artist’s aesthetic vision, which dwells in every exquisite detail.
